Part 4: Update + Changes to the Reviews

Okay, I wanted to give a little update here on how these reviews are going to proceed from now on. It won’t take very long but it is necessary to say what changes I am going to be making going forward. As such, this will be part of the official series of “The Face of TG Storytime”.

So I’m actually typing this out almost right after I posted the “Of Heroes And Villains” review. Anyway the “Of Heroes And Villains” review took a very long time. I mean, it was 18,000 Words in total, which is like, a little more than a quarter of the length of the actual story. It’s crazy. The review itself took way too long to finish, and it was just too long in general as well. And part of the reason why it took so long are the screenshots of the actual story. It takes a long time to put all the screenshots where they need to be and make sure they're formatted correctly with the rest of the text.

So the first change I am making is that I will not be including any more screenshots of the story itself. It just takes too damn long. I do want to finish this series within a relatively reasonable timeframe, and if I have to keep doing these screenshots for every single one of these reviews this is going to take forever, so I'm not doing it anymore. I'm sure you would all like it if these reviews came out more frequently, and in order to do that the screenshots are going to have to go.

I will still have two screenshots in the reviews, and they will be of the scorecard at the end and the story header at the beginning. But other than that, they are gone. And honestly, it’s for the best. The “Of Heroes And Villains” had like, more than 100 screenshots in it, which is ridiculous. And I think I use them as a crutch too often, one more reason to get rid of them.

Also, I'm going to try to limit the amount of time I spend summarizing the story. A good chunk of the “Of Heroes And Villains” review was spent summarizing sections of the story, and I really don't want to do that. I think like half of that review was just summarizing things, and I don't like that so that's going to change. I don't want to spend an egregiously long time summarizing things, especially when I’m pretty sure most of you reading these have already read these stories.

That’s all I wanted to say. Again, this was a very short blog post, just to give a quick update on things. The “Fangs” review will hopefully not take as long as the “Of Heroes And Villains” review did.

And speaking of the “Fangs” review you've probably noticed in the scorecard that there's a section for an “old” version and a “new” version. I'm pretty sure most of you reading this blog already know this, but “Fangs” was completely rewritten and the version that’s on TG Storytime now is not the one that was on it previously. They’re two entirely different stories. I’ll discuss what I’ll do about this in the review itself.

You're probably also wondering why I'm reviewing “Fangs” next anyway, because if you go on TG Storytime, the third most favorite story right now is “Hush”, not “Fangs”. Again, the most favorite list is subject to change all the time so I recorded the list of what order these stories were in when I started reading them again. As you can see, I wasn't exactly very focused on reading all of them in the beginning, but I am now and hopefully I can get all of them done more quickly. This is also why “A Winter Trip’s Twist” on the list because it was when I started reading them, but since “Blitz” is on it now I’ll review that one too.

All right, that's all I wanted to say for now. Have a good day.
