Top 12 Worst Hit Songs of 2001 2001 was the year where the U.S. experienced a fraction of what it inflicted on other countries and immediately went completely insane for the next couple of decades. They still haven't recovered even today. It was also a pretty good year for the Hot 100. Not only because there were a lot of good songs this year but there was a lot of good variety on the charts. Hip hop, R&B, neo-soul, alternative rock, pop and post-grunge (for better or worse) all got a chance to shine.
